Biography

Hishaam Khan is a financial services lawyer based in London. He has cross‑border experience in financial services, with a particular focus on the financial services aspects of corporate transactions, advising leading institutions on complex regulatory and transactional matters. He has additional experience in private equity, debt capital markets and corporate transactional matters, with a proven track record of supporting high‑value deals.

Hishaam is an admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa. He has advised both domestic and international financial institutions relative to the UK and South African financial services markets.

  • Advising KKR on the regulatory aspects of numerous transactions including its acquisition of OSTTRA, a leading provider of post-trade solutions for the global OTC market, for a total enterprise value at USD 3.1 billion.

  •  Advising a consortium comprising TowerBrook, J.C. Flowers and Railsr on the regulatory aspects of their GBP 283 million recommended cash offer for the entire issued and to be issued share capital of Equals Group Plc.

  • Advising Twelve Capital on the regulatory aspects of their merger with Securis Investment Partners LLP, creating a leading insurance-linked manager globally with USD 7.8 billion in assets under management.

  • Advising Offa on the regulatory aspects of one of the UK’s first Sharia-compliant tranched private securitisations, which will originate Sharia-compliant residential buy-to-let (BTL) mortgages, known as BTL Home Purchase Plans.

  • Advising the funds managed by Ares Management Corporation’s Infrastructure Debt strategy on its GBP 178 million financing to alternative network broadband provider, Brsk.

  • Advising a British challenger bank on the regulatory aspects of its group restructuring.

  • Advising a multinational bank on its communication plan in respect of retail clients with regards to the closure of its retail banking business.
