Biography

Jacquelyn Smalley is an intellectual property lawyer and registered Canadian trademark agent with a focus on trademark law, advertising issues, and the acquisition, commercialization, and protection of intellectual property rights.

Jacquelyn offers strategic guidance on managing trademark portfolios for domestic and multinational clients across various industries, including consumer goods, food, retail, clothing, technology, pharmaceuticals, and financial services. She routinely provides trademark clearance and availability opinions, assists clients with securing and maintaining registered trademark rights, and represents clients in trademark and domain name disputes. 

In addition, Jacquelyn has experience negotiating and drafting various intellectual property agreements, including advising on complex commercial transactions and licensing arrangements. She also regularly reviews marketing materials, labelling, and packaging to ensure compliance with trademark laws, copyright laws, and regulatory requirements.
