Session II: "They didn't mean it like that": Navigating the minefield of micro-inequities and microaggressions
According to a study conducted by McKinsey & Company nearly 2 out of 3 women face every day gender and racial-based microaggressions in the workplace. Unrecognized and innocuous by nature, micro-inequities and microaggressions prevent the workplace from fostering a culture of inclusivity and belonging – which leads to less innovation, engagement and diverse leadership. In an interactive discussion, we will define what micro-inequities and microaggressions are, how to recognize them and the inclusive practices and strategic intervention tactics you can adopt to reduce harm.
