Norton Rose Fulbright welcomes international arbitration heavyweight to its ranks

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has announced that Duncan Bagshaw will join the firm as a partner in its London office.

Duncan, who will join the firm from Howard Kennedy, has extensive experience in international disputes with a particular focus on the energy sector and Africa-related disputes. These include matters relating to electricity generation and supply and renewable energy projects. He often advises on issues arising from joint ventures and commercial contracts.

He acts for clients in arbitrations conducted under the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), DIFC and other rules, and before all courts of England and Wales, including the Supreme Court. He is a vice-chair of the ICC UK Arbitration and ADR Committee as well as a member of the ICC Global Commission and Registrar of the Scottish Arbitration Centre. Duncan is regularly cited as a leading disputes practitioner in the latest editions of the Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners guides.

Duncan qualified as a barrister, called to the Bar in 2003. He practised as a barrister until 2012 when he became the first Registrar of the LCIA-MIAC Arbitration Centre in Mauritius, working to establish the country as an emerging centre for dispute resolution and to promote international arbitration practice in Africa.
