Global Press release - Recognition July 28, 2021

Global Head of Intellectual Property Frances Drummond (Sydney) and US Head of IP Brands Tim Kenny (Minneapolis) are recognized as global leaders in trademark private practice by World Trademark Review (WTR) for 2021.

As WTR Global Leaders, Drummond and Kenny are considered "the best of the best in the trademark practice."

According to WTR, "This year's WTR Global Leaders merit special attention owing not only to their expertise and experience in creating, protecting, managing and enforcing essential brand rights but also to their ability to innovate, inspire and go above and beyond to deliver for their clients."

With over 25 years of practice, Kenny, who until recently served as the firm's Global Head of IP and led the global IP team of more than 250 lawyers, currently leads the US IP Brands practice and also serves as the firm's Minneapolis Partner-in-Charge. He focuses his practice on the US and international trademark litigation, oppositions and cancellations, policing, counseling, licensing and prosecution/strategic portfolio management. Kenny also has a track record for providing vigorous representation relating to copyrights and copyright litigation and unfair competition litigation.

With over 30 years of experience practicing in intellectual property law in the UK, Hong Kong, and Australia, Drummond has worked extensively on Asia Pacific IP matters. She practices across all aspects of trademark law, including portfolio management, enforcement and exploitation. She advises clients from various industries on intellectual property strategies, including pharmaceuticals, technology, retail and brands, transport, energy, infrastructure, mining, and financial institutions.

WTR bases its rankings on interviews with lawyers and clients involved with trademarks, as well as written submissions from firms detailing their recent activity in the field.
