Biography

Alan de Rochefort-Reynolds is a dispute resolution lawyer whose practice focuses on international arbitration and cross-border disputes. He also regularly acts in complex, high-value litigation.

Described by clients as “very personable” with “great technical ability” (Global Arbitration Review, 2025), Alan acts in both international arbitrations and proceedings before domestic courts. He has particular experience in resources, joint venture, and financial services disputes.

Alan’s international arbitration practice includes investor-State disputes and international commercial arbitrations. He has acted for and against States, and has particular interest in investment contracts. Alan also regularly advises on corporate structuring, investment treaty protections, human rights and business, as well as export controls and sanctions. He also has experience advising on and drafting inter-State agreements.

Prior to joining the firm, Alan was an arbitration associate to international arbitrator Dr Michael Pryles AO PBM in Australia and Singapore. He has served as a tribunal secretary in several arbitrations, including under the SIAC and UNCITRAL Rules.
