Norton Rose Fulbright partner Wang Yi has been recognised as a Top 15 Female Lawyer in China by legal trade publication ALB China for 2017.

The annual ALB China’s Top 15 Female Lawyer award is designed identify outstanding female lawyers who provide clients with quality and comprehensive service by leveraging their strength, patience, meticulousness and wisdom.

The award acknowledges Wang Yi’s commitment to her clients and her work, her strong leadership skills and reputation in the market.

Wang Yi is head of Norton Rose Fulbright’s Beijing office and also leads the firm’s Beijing corporate team. Her practice focuses on cross-border merger and acquisitions transactions and her experience extends across a broad array of sectors including mining, energy, agricultural and transport industries. Wang Yi has particular expertise in projects and infrastructure-related legal advice.

In April 2017, Wang Yi co-led the firm’s advice to Chinese mining company Shandong Gold Mining Co. Ltd (SDG), on its acquisition of 50% of shares in Veladero gold mine in Argentina, owned by Barrick Gold Corporation (BGC), for US$960 million.
