Biography
Wojciech Janik is a competition and M&A lawyer based in Warsaw.
His practice focuses on competition law, consumer protection, and regulatory matters, particularly those handled by the Polish Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK). He has a strong focus on the retail, consumer goods, e-commerce, financial services, and telecommunications sectors.
Wojciech advises clients on a broad range of EU and national legal issues, including merger clearance notifications, dawn raids, and behavioral investigations, as well as on competition compliance programs. He has represented companies across various sectors in UOKiK investigations into alleged cartels and consumer protection infringements, as well as in appeals against decisions issued by the authority.
Wojciech also provides guidance on a wide range of regulatory matters under EU and Polish law, including general product safety, payment gridlocks, and unfair contractual advantage in agricultural and food supply chains.
Before joining Norton Rose Fulbright, Wojciech led the Competition and Consumer Law practice at a “Big Four” consulting firm. He built his expertise at UOKiK, where he handled antitrust and consumer protection cases and represented the authority in litigation before the Court of Competition and Consumer Protection, the Court of Appeal, and the Supreme Court. He also gained in-house experience at a major telecommunications provider, advising on legal and regulatory compliance matters.
