Biography

David Ng’s practice focuses on creating and protecting intellectual property assets in Canada, the United States and around the world. Mr. Ng drafts, prosecutes and provides strategic advice for patents in various innovative fields, including electrical, mechanical, medical device and computer-related technologies.

A large focus of Mr. Ng's practice relates to financial technologies, distributed computing, machine learning, telecommunication systems and protocols, blockchain applications and data analysis systems. Mr. Ng has successfully helped clients navigate the challenges of patentable subject matter before patent offices in the United States, Canada and throughout the world.

Mr. Ng advises on IP-related agreements, and provides technical and strategic guidance to our IP litigation team. He also handles trademark, industrial design and copyright registrations.

Prior to his legal career, Mr. Ng’s experience included graduate research on circuit leakage power, as well as R&D at a network infrastructure bellwether, a wireless device developer, and a medical physics laboratory.
