Norton Rose Fulbright wins "International Law Firm Innovation" at Legal Week Innovation Awards

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has been awarded “International Law Firm Innovation” at the annual Legal Week Innovation Awards. 

The Awards recognise innovation in the legal sector and precedent-setting, game-changing projects and initiatives.

Norton Rose Fulbright was recognised for its work in developing the solution, “Claim Control”, in order to help airlines track, review and defend against EC261 claims relating to flight delays and cancellations, and reduce ‘value leakage’ from airlines' bottom lines. A key feature is that the solution also captures actionable data, to assist airlines minimise claimable delays over time. Norton Rose Fulbright designed a detailed process for tracking, reviewing and proactively defending the claims, with the administration of the project and most of the work completed from its Hub in Newcastle. This work is supervised through an online platform overseen by a disputes team in London and other jurisdictions. The solution was created as part of NRF Transform, Norton Rose Fulbright's global change and innovation program.

Key members of the firm’s team included Robin Springthorpe (partner), David Carter (chief product officer), Craig Armstrong (claims manager), Daniel Ang (business solutions manager), Karin Barker (business analyst) and Diana Vilarino (legal technology programme manager).
