Biography
Victoria Asikis is a regulatory lawyer based in Ottawa. She previously worked for another leading law firm where her practice primarily involved advertising and marketing, commercial, and regulatory law related to foods and beverages, cosmetics, natural health products, drugs, and other consumer goods.
Victoria advises clients on product regulatory matters including labelling, ingredient and formula assessments, and product statements and claims. She contributes to the due diligence process for commercial transactions involving food-related entities, in particular for federal and provincial regulatory considerations.
Victoria assists clients in preparing and submitting cosmetic notification forms, product licence applications for licencing of natural health products, and regulatory submissions for over-the-counter drugs. Her practice also involves reviewing websites, social media pages, and print advertising materials, and advising clients on their social media influencer campaigns, including disclosures in accordance with government and industry policies.
Victoria regularly engages with federal government agencies including Health Canada, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, and the Competition Bureau. She has participated in product recalls, and assists clients in responding to government inquiries and requests for information.
