Norton Rose Fulbright advises Audinate Group Limited on the acquisition of Iris Studio

Australia Press release - Business July 2025

A cross-border team from global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has advised Audinate Group Limited (ASX:AD8) (Audinate) on the acquisition of Iris Studio Inc (Iris), a US company specialising in developing AI powered, cloud-based camera control technology.

Audinate is a developer of the Dante media networking platform. Audinate says it redefines the possibilities of audio-visual (AV) media through innovative technologies to create exceptional AV experiences.

The acquisition of Iris strengthens Audinate’s video platform capabilities and accelerates its vision for interoperable control — a major step forward that adds significant accessibility for customers managing the millions of Dante-enabled devices in the AV device ecosystem.

The Norton Rose Fulbright cross-border team was led by corporate M&A partners Ben Smits in Sydney, Jeremy Wickens in Melbourne and Lior Nuchi in San Francisco, with support from senior associate George Khoukaz in Dallas, and associate William Batt and lawyer Victoria Thomson in Sydney.

Norton Rose Fulbright partner Ben Smits commented:

“We were pleased to bring together a cross-border team of partners and lawyers to work closely with Audinate on all legal facets of this transaction. Audinate’s acquisition of Iris will improve its position in two key growth segments (video and control), and strongly aligns with its existing customer base across several industry verticals. This deal enabled us to draw on our vast global and local experience leading transformative technology M&A mandates in this and adjacent sectors.”
