Life inside our firm

First impressions are important, but let’s look a little deeper. Beyond the basic facts and figures of our firm, what’s it really like to work here? What would your life be like with us? Here, you’ll find out about our culture, our networks, the benefits of life at our firm. And of course, in-depth reflections from the trainees who’ve been where you are.

Corporate Responsibility

We acknowledge our responsibility to make a contribution to the community of which we are a part. We aim to create an environment which: educates, encourages and supports our staff in acknowledging their responsibility to participate in activities which make a sustainable contribution to the communities in which we operate, support the underprivileged and respect the environment.

Our approach

At Norton Rose Fulbright South Africa our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program is a vital part of our cultural make-up and community spirit. CSR is a way to give back to those in need. It is our responsibility as corporate citizens to do the right thing.

This is a celebration of what we can do for others. How we can harness the skills, abilities and generosity of our people to do assist our fellow citizens and improve what we can, where we can, as much as we can.

Through our CSR program we demonstrate our commitment to strong corporate citizenship and live our values of Quality, Unity and Integrity.

Our areas of focus

We focus our CSR efforts in support of human rights, rights of the LGBTI community, rights of women and children, rights of homeless people, and rights of those in the community who are otherwise less fortunate.

Each year we host a Global Charitable Initiative where we dedicate time and funds on a specific target. In 2016, we assisted with the build of The Menzi Children’s Home in Tsakane, Brakpan. We continue to support these children with fundraising, legal support and volunteering. You can learn more about this inspiring project here: Menzi Children’s Home.

Diversity and inclusion

Diversity and inclusion is a critical business issue at Norton Rose Fulbright in South Africa.

We value difference and appreciate the variety of perspectives that this brings to our business. We know that if our people are able to be themselves at work, they are more engaged and productive.

We aim to create an inclusive culture where every individual can bring their whole self to work and have a sense of belonging.
