Norton Rose acts on landfill biogas project in Thailand

Norton Rose (Thailand) Ltd has acted for Sindicatum Clean Energy Pte Ltd (a subsidiary of Sindicatum Carbon Capital Holdings Limited), on 2 CDM landfill biogas and very small power plant (a power plant with generating capacity not exceeding 10 MW) projects in Bangkok and Chiang Mai, Thailand. 

The Norton Rose (Thailand) Ltd team advised on the structuring of the transaction, the financing of the project and the purchasing of the potential CERs to be generated from the project.  The financing of the project was provided by Sindicatum.

The projects will use biogas captured from the landfills to generate power, which will then be sold to the the Provincial Electricity Authority of Thailand.        

The total value of both projects is THB 2,481,000,000 (approximately USD 75 million).
