Cecilia Buresti practices in the area of dispute resolution and litigation, with specific focus on insurance and reinsurance claims.
She represents insurers in issues such as coverage, litigation management, alternative dispute resolution, and coverage litigation. In addition to her experience in the area of insurance disputes, Cecilia has assisted and represented clients active in other industry sectors, including, real estate, energy, transport and general manufacturing, on a wide range of civil and commercial disputes.
The breadth of her experience in the insurance sector ranges from handling complex high value FI and D&O liability matters involving failed major companies, through casualty and environmental claim litigation and medical malpractice claims.
She joined us from a leading international legal practice in 2000. She is admitted to appear before Italy’s highest court, the Corte di Cassazione.
She read law at the Università di Bologna and qualified as an Italian avvocato in 1992. She also studied international and comparative law at the University of Dallas Southwestern Legal Foundation in the United States.
She is a native Italian speaker and she is fluent in English.
