Jillian Hyslop practises in all aspects of intellectual property litigation with an emphasis on complex patent and trade-mark litigation. She joined our Toronto office as a summer student in 2013 and returned to article with us in 2014-2015. During her articles, Ms. Hyslop gained valuable knowledge in a variety of regulatory, commercial and intellectual property matters while seconded to GlaxoSmithKline Inc.
While in law school, Ms. Hyslop volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada and the Community and Legal Aid Services Program providing legal services to not-for-profit organizations and individuals in the community. During her studies, Ms. Hyslop travelled on international exchange to Glasgow, Scotland, where she focused her studies on data protection and privacy law.
Prior to law school, Ms. Hyslop gained valuable research experience focused on the fetal origins of adult diseases, including type 2 diabetes and obesity following exposure to chemical insults. Ms. Hyslop’s research findings have been published in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
