Ian Trimble practises in all areas of intellectual property law with an emphasis on pharmaceutical patent litigation and regulatory work. He advises clients on market access and compliance strategies and helps clients to deal with regulatory and pre-clearance agencies.
Prior to law school, Dr. Trimble gained valuable experience working as a pharmacist in Ontario and British Columbia in both hospital and retail settings. He is currently a licensed and practicing pharmacist in Ontario.
Dr. Trimble joined our Toronto office after completing a clerkship at the Federal Court with the Honourable Mr. Justice Hughes.

Health Canada has proposed regulations that will amend the Food and Drug Regulations to allow for importation of drugs that address an urgent public health need but have not yet received regulatory approval from Health Canada.

In the 2015 federal election, the Liberal Party of Canada ran on a platform that included legalizing recreational cannabis. Following the election, a task force was created to report on legalization and regulation.
