David Stannard is a corporate lawyer based in Hong Kong.
David has been involved in a significant number of prominent corporate finance transactions in his practice in Hong Kong. He regularly advises leading international and local investment banks and companies. These have included a wide variety of: listings/IPOs; public company takeover and merger transactions; rights issues and other secondary fundraisings; private company sales and purchases; joint ventures; private equity investments; bond issues, particularly of convertible or exchangeable bonds; and compliance issues under the Stock Exchange Listing Rules and the Codes on Takeovers and Mergers and Share Repurchases.
David read law at Southampton University. He qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales in 1981 and was admitted as a solicitor in Hong Kong in 1983. He is a former executive director in charge of the corporate finance division of the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission.
David's area of practice is Hong Kong and international corporate finance, including listings, share and bond offerings, public and private mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate transactions and advice on aspects of Hong Kong's Stock Exchange Listing Rules and Takeovers Code.
