Marcello Ciampi is a banking and finance and energy lawyer based in Milan. He focuses mainly on project finance and M&A in the renewable energy sector and has extensive experience of advising on projects in Italy and abroad.
Marcello regularly assists Italian and foreign banks, financial institutions and investors on domestic and cross border financing transactions, including project finance, asset finance, trade finance, export credit finance, real estate finance and acquisition finance.
Marcello’s practice includes advising Italian and foreign clients on a wide range of domestic and cross border transactions, including in relation to acquisitions, dismissals, mergers, and corporate restructurings. He is particularly skilled at drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
Over the past three years, he has advised clients and led negotiations on the acquisition of more than 500 MW of renewable assets (wind and solar).
Before joining us in 2010, Marcello worked for a leading international law firm. Prior still he worked as in-house counsel at the Milan branch of The Royal Bank of Scotland, where he was mainly responsible for lending transactions, and as legal counsel for a major Italian hotel management company.
Marcello read law with full honours at the University of Pavia and received his law degree in 2000. He is also a graduate of the Bocconi-Pavia Law School.
He was admitted to the bar in 2004.
He is a native Italian speaker and is fluent in English and French.
