Adrian Ahern is a corporate and commercial lawyer based in our Sydney office. He is the leader of our financial institutions industry focus group in Asia Pacific and a Global Vice Chair of Norton Rose Fulbright.
Adrian specialises in mergers and acquisitions, privatisations, infrastructure development and buy/sell, and foreign investment law and regulation.
Adrian has a significant track record in each of the financial services and transport sectors, having advised many of Australia’s leading financial institutions and also road, rail and port organisations. He is also experienced in preparing bids and tenders, particularly for the private sector in government asset disposals and long-term contractual arrangements.
Adrian is continually ranked as one of Australia’s leading corporate and commercial and mergers and acquisitions lawyers, in particular in financial services.
Adrian was a student in Japan in the mid 1970s and worked on secondment in Tokyo with a major Japanese investment organisation in the mid 1980s. He acts for a number of Japanese investors in Australia.
The regulatory framework for financial institutions in Australia is extensive and detailed. Regulatory oversight is split primarily between the Australian Prudential.
