Norton Rose Fulbright launches Lane Change, a podcast dedicated to autonomous vehicles

Press release - Business July 25, 2019

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright today announced that it has launched Lane Change, the first legally-focused podcast dedicated entirely to autonomous vehicles (AV).

Paul Keller (New York), who counsels a stable of clients on AV legal issues, hosts Lane Change. Keller is a widely published thought leader on AV legal issues and provides advice on AV legal trends as a member of Law360’s Intellectual Property Editorial Advisory Board.

Lane Change features discussions on a wide range of topics—in the US and around the world—including: product liability in this new space; passenger and pedestrian data protection with these vehicles; the role IP will play; new forms of insurance that are being developed to serve this new market; blockchain; artificial intelligence (AI); the Internet of Things (IoT); healthcare; law enforcement; and policy decisions.

The podcast is available at no cost on Apple Podcasts, GooglePlay, other preferred podcatchers and www.avtech.law. In Lane Change’s 45-minute debut episode, Keller and guest Simon Thompson of Oxford Technical Solutions, an industry leader, discuss AV technology, the industry today and projections for the future.

In future installments, Keller will interview a guest or guests about a specific aspect of the AV field. Guests will include industry subject matter experts, consultants, top executives, other leading figures in the AV field and Norton Rose Fulbright lawyers.

The podcast will help listeners keep apace of developments in this fast-moving industry and provide them with a better understanding of the technology, the industry and its legal issues.

Keller, who is on the editorial board for RAIL, The Journal of Robotics, Artificial Intelligence & Law, said:

“AV is an exciting, rapidly developing field, and Lane Change will be a lively new forum where leading figures in this space can pass on what they know. The podcast will feature substantive discussions, and listeners will definitely come away feeling like they learned something new.”

Lane Change is the latest in a wide array of publications, webinars and podcasts produced by Norton Rose Fulbright. The global law firm’s fourth annual Autonomous Vehicles (AV) white paper is also now available and covers the use of biometrics in self-driving cars. This white paper, in addition to the first three volumes, are all available at www.avtech.law
