Biography

Megan Roberts joined the firm in 2012. Since joining the firm, she has advised clients in a variety of complex commercial disputes in state, federal, and arbitral forums. Her practice encompasses a wide range of matters involving energy disputes, regulatory inquiries, internal investigations, insurance defense and coverage matters, contract disputes, appellate matters, and valuation contests. Her clients include companies from the energy, banking, insurance, technology, construction, and oilfield services industries. Megan is admitted to practice in Texas, the US Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the US District Courts for the Northern, Eastern, Southern and Western Districts of Texas.

  • Assisted multiple energy companies in responding to SEC subpoenas
  • Obtained favorable settlements on behalf of brokerage firms and individual financial advisors in over a dozen FINRA arbitrations
  • Obtained expungement of the Central Registration Depository Records for three financial advisors
  • Successfully represented former CEO of large snack food company in contesting the valuation of his shares after his termination
  • Represented energy company in a two-week arbitration involving a contract dispute with its investor partner
  • Obtained summary judgment in federal court action, which was later affirmed on appeal to the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, in favor of financial institution client in a contract dispute related to a loan transaction
  • Successfully defended an attorney faced with a legal malpractice complaint made against her to the New York Attorney Grievance Committee
  • Obtained favorable settlement in favor of data center tenant against landlord in dispute related to unpaid rent
