Katherine is an insurance lawyer based in Melbourne. Katherine has over 18 years' litigation and dispute resolution experience, with expertise in general and professional liability, personal injury and product liability.
Katherine acts for Australian insurers and London underwriters in defence of general and professional liability claims and for multinational companies in the defence of personal injury/product liability claims. Some major clients include Stockland, QBE 386, Munich Re and Victoria Police.
Katherine started her legal career as a panel lawyer for the Victorian WorkCover Authority and has acted for government entities such as the Victoria Police, Department of Defence, Director of Housing, Department of Education, as well as statutory authorities, such as Melbourne Water and VicRoads, and government insurers, including VMIA and Comcover.
In addition to litigated claims work, Katherine regularly advises in relation to contractual interpretation, statutory interpretation and indemnity issues.
Katherine has litigated matters in VCAT, the Magistrates', County and Supreme Courts, including the Court of Appeal and the High Court of Australia.
