Biography
Kirsty Sklar practises corporate and securities law with a focus on corporate financings and mergers and acquisitions. She also assists clients with corporate governance, continuous disclosure and general corporate matters.
Ms. Sklar’s corporate finance practice includes a variety of transactions for both underwriters and issuers, including short-form prospectus offerings, initial public offerings and private placements. She also advises issuers concerning their ongoing disclosure obligations, securities reporting requirements, corporate governance practices and stock exchange matters.

- The underwriters in a C$350 million offering of common shares by an oil and gas corporation by way of short-form prospectus
- WesternZagros Resources in its C$200 million rights offering with an equity backstop and US$200 million loan facility from Crest Energy International LLC
- The underwriters in a C$198 million initial public offering and secondary offering by an oil and gas corporation by way of long-form prospectus
- Crescent Point Energy Corp. in connection with several public offerings of common shares by way of short-form prospectus for aggregate gross proceeds exceeding C$2 billion
- Sonde Resources Corp. in its disposition of substantially all of its Western Canadian oil and gas exploration and production assets to Marquee Energy Ltd. by way of plan of arrangement
