Biography
Kassandra Shortt practises intellectual property law with an emphasis on pharmaceutical patent litigation.
Ms. Shortt joined our Toronto office as a summer student in 2016 and returned to article with us in 2017-2018. While articling, Ms. Shortt completed a secondment at GlaxoSmithKline Inc. where she gained valuable experience with commercial, regulatory, and intellectual property matters related to the innovative pharmaceutical industry.
During law school, Ms. Shortt developed practical advocacy skills by representing clients in appeals before an administrative tribunal and assisting self-represented litigants through a pro bono organization. Ms. Shortt also conducted research on the intersection of intellectual property law and privacy in big data and algorithmic decision-making.
