Biography

Emma Russell is a lawyer in our energy team. She assists clients and senior lawyers on a wide variety of matters, with a particular focus on environmental, constitutional, and regulatory litigation, as well as issues concerning Indigenous peoples. Emma has appeared at all levels of court in British Columbia and before various administrative tribunals. She also maintains an active pro bono practice and co-chairs the Vancouver chapter of Women in Norton Rose Fulbright.

Emma joined us as a summer student in 2019 and returned to complete her articles in 2020. She joined us as an associate in 2022 after clerking for three justices of the Court of Appeal for British Columbia and Yukon. During law school, Emma competed in two competitive moots, served as a clinician with the UBC Innocence Project, and worked as a research assistant examining legal solutions to online hate speech.
