Biography

Dr. Ute Brunner-Reumann is regulatory lawyer based in Frankfurt. She advises regulated entities and other market participants on investment, banking regulatory and capital markets law.  

Ute advises on contractual and regulatory aspects of marketing and distribution of securities, fund units and derivatives. This includes advice on organizational and conduct requirements resulting from, among others, MiFID, MiFIR and EMIR, as well as issues related to clearing, settlement and safe custody with a focus on the utilization of financial technologies (FinTech). Furthermore, she focuses on internal organization and regulatory capital of institutions on a single and group basis under CRD IV, CRR and BRRD.

She also advises on investment fund legislations with a focus on both, fund management companies and depository banks, for example on establishing and structuring funds and on transactions in investment fund portfolios.

Ute joined as counsel in April 2021. She worked for 15 years in a global law firm, eight of them as counsel. Prior to joining us, she spent four years in the role of head of supervisory law in a major German bank.
