Inside investigations: Stay one step ahead
July 25, 2025
In the latest episode of our Global Investigations Podcast Series, join members of our global investigations team, Ashley Kuempel, Keith Rosen, Kevin Harnisch, Andrew Reeves and Claudia Van Gruisen as we discuss recent updates in anti-corruption enforcement.
What to expect in the episode:
- We consider the message sent by the recent DOJ and SFO meeting and what this could mean for global anti-bribery enforcement going forwards.
- What is the impact of the DOJ’s recent budget proposals and its shifting of resources: we will look at these and consider what these cuts mean for future investigations by the DOJ.
- What do we know about the future of FCPA and SFO enforcement? We will discuss the new DOJ FCPA guidance released in June 2025 and the recent changes under the current US administration. Are we entering a new era of anti-corruption enforcement and what are the key priorities of global authorities moving forwards?
Join us we dive into the new priorities of the regulators and explore key practical takeaways for companies resulting from these developments including:
- FCPA enforcement is still very much on the agenda for the DOJ and therefore companies need to continue to strengthen their compliance programmes. Investigations may be particularly focused on individual culpability and cases involving “substantial bribe payments”.
- Similarly in the UK, the SFO is focussed on being proactive and companies need to be vigilant – particularly given the new UK Failure to Prevent Fraud Offence which is effective 1 September 2025.
