La Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec invests C$42 million in Invenergy's Des Moulins 135.7 MW wind energy project

On April 4, 2014, La Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ) invested C$42,000,000 in the 135.7 MW Des Moulins wind energy project located in Thetford Mines, Kinnear’s Mills and St-Jean-de-Brébeuf, Québec operated by Invenergy Wind (Invenergy). Following the transaction, Invenergy remains the majority controlling shareholder.

This investment follows CDPQ’s announcement in early 2013 of a US$500,000,000 investment in a portion of Invenergy’s wind farm portfolio, comprising 11 wind projects in the United States and two in Canada.

Norton Rose Fulbright acted as Canadian and US legal counsel to CDPQ with the Canadian team that included Nicolas Labrecque, Mathieu Deschamps, Peter Riddell (Corporate, Commercial, M&A), Michèle Friel, Mélanie Dupuis-Giuliani (Banking and Finance), Derek Chiasson (Tax) and Michelle Felsky (articling student). The US team included Mark Tibberts (New York) and Roger Bohwa Lee (Los Angeles).
