Four of the top five global risks by impact relate to climate change, according to the World Economic Forum Global Risks Report 2019. Initiatives such as the G20’s Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures are pushing climate risk to board level. This seminar will consider the investor response to climate risk and how scenario analysis can be used to assess climate change risks and opportunities.
We will explore the climate risk impacts on financial institutions and corporates, and the use of a global energy system model to create fully consistent sectoral/regional pathways. These pathways can be used to assess investment opportunities in a consistent way, support specific company analysis, as well as conduct impact assessments on broad financial portfolios.
