United States Press release - People October 2023

US Co-Head of Restructuring Ryan E. Manns has been honored with Profiles in Diversity Journal's second annual Diverse Lawyers Making a Difference Award.

This international award highlights 11 accomplished diverse lawyers working to achieve positive changes in diversity, equity and inclusion within their law firms, and for their clients and communities.

Manns serves as Co-Chair of the Racial Equity Council (REC), which works to strategically enhance the professional experience of the firm's Black lawyers and Business Services personnel, and to advance racial equity throughout the firm. He has played a key role in helping the REC achieve several goals, including the development of a comprehensive sponsorship program designed to serve as a career accelerator for Black non-partner lawyers.

His practice involves representing public and private corporations, boards of directors, management teams, creditor constituencies and purchasers of financially distressed assets in complex business restructuring matters, both inside and outside of court. He has counseled clients in a variety of industries, including energy, healthcare, telecommunications, real estate and media. He also advises clients in connection with cross-border restructurings.

Manns is a Fellow in the American College of Bankruptcy and was recently recognized as a "Lawyer of the Year" in Bankruptcy and Creditor Debtor Rights / Insolvency and Reorganization Law in Dallas / Fort Worth by The Best Lawyers in America.

Profiles in Diversity Journal is a quarterly publication dedicated to "promoting and advancing diversity, inclusion and equity in the corporate, government, nonprofit, STEM and higher education sectors." The Diverse Lawyers Making a Difference Award recipients will appear in the next edition of the publication and on its website in December.
