Mark Baker reappointed as a member of Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS)

Global Head of International Arbitration Mark Baker has been reappointed as a member of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) by the International Council of Arbitration for Sport (ICAS), the international body that settles disputes related to sports federations and the Olympics through arbitration or mediation.

Baker, who also serves on Norton Rose Fulbright's Global Supervisory Board, said:

"As a former college competitor, I am honored to serve this organization, which is so important to sports globally. I look forward to continuing my work with CAS to effectively resolve sports-related disputes."

Mark previously served for four terms as an arbitrator on the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). During that time, he served as arbitrator for a wide variety of Olympic and sports federations as diverse as track and field, sailing, football and numerous events for athletes with disabilities.

Mark is a member of many distinguished arbitration panels, including the American Arbitration Association, International Centre for Dispute Resolution, International Chamber of Commerce, London Court of International Arbitration, Singapore International Arbitration, International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes and the World Intellectual Property Organization. He also frequently sits in Court of Arbitration for Sport and ad hoc disputes under UNCITRAL and other rules.

Based in Lausanne, Switzerland, ICAS aims to facilitate the resolution of sports-related disputes and safeguard the independence of CAS and the rights of the parties. It is also responsible for the administration and financing of CAS, an institution established in 1984 independent of any sports organization, which provides services to settle sports-related disputes by means of procedural rules adapted to the specific needs of the sports world.
