Biography
Ryan McCoy practices in the firm's Los Angeles office in the areas of wage and hour class actions, discrimination, wrongful termination, and retaliation, as well as commercial litigation and complex insurance coverage. Mr. McCoy represents clients in transportation, construction, warehousing and order fulfilment, retail, insurance, and health care. He has an active arbitration practice and has defended multiple arbitrations before the American Arbitration Association as well as significant appellate experience before the California Courts of Appeal.

- Multiple arbitrations before the American Arbitration Association in wage and hour violation, sexual harassment, pregnancy discrimination, disability discrimination, and meal and rest period disputes.
- Successfully enforced an arbitration agreement's class action waiver in numerous state court actions for national truck rental retailer.
- Successfully defended a national truck rental company against an Americans with Disabilities Act class action, through enforcement of a prior national class action settlement agreement.
- Successfully prosecuted Talent Agency Act controversy before the California Labor Commissioner on behalf of a television actor who was defrauded by his agent.
- Defended national life insurance company in multiple bad faith actions, one of which resulted in a published opinion in the California Court of Appeal on novel issue of whether interpleader of life insurance proceeds is appropriate where sole beneficiary is the "prime suspect" in the insured's murder [Farmers New World Life Insurance Company v. Rees (2013) 219 Cal.App.4th 307].
