Kyla Risko is an associate in the Austin office and is part of the IP transactions and patent prosecution practice. Kyla has experience with domestic and foreign patent prosecution and has prepared patent applications related to fields such as the petroleum industry, chemical processes, medical devices, cosmetics, and innovative materials in the food industry. Kyla's technical experience includes the areas of chemical engineering, oil and gas refining, and chemical process industry.

During law school, Kyla was Board Editor for the Law & Innovation Journal, Production Editor for the Asian Law Review, and Executive Director of Street Law Pro Bono. She was Co-Director of the Partnership for Entrepreneurial Engineers and Penn Law - a liaison between colleges to facilitate patent and trademark activities. She worked in the Detkin Intellectual Property and Technology Clinic, which provides pro bono transactional patent, copyright, trademark and trade secret services to individuals, non-profit and for-profit clients in technology. Additionally, she has work experience at a major petrochemical complex improving technical processes in both refining and chemical plants.
