Biography

Katherine Madianos is counsel in the Austin office.  A member of the firm's Intellectual Property Group, Katherine's practice is focused on trademark clearance and prosecution, and trademark related disputes and transactions.  Katherine guides clients through the complete trademark life cycle, from selection and clearance of new trademarks, to comprehensive trademark prosecution, policing, portfolio management and dispute resolution. She also advises on trademark related contract and transactional matters. Her practice includes:

  • Developing strategies for protecting intellectual property       
  • Evaluation of proposed marks, including availability searches and opinions
  • Prosecution of trademark applications in the US and internationally
  • Opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board
  • Policing and enforcing trademark rights and overseeing trademark disputes
  • Trademark licenses and other transactions involving trademarks, including acquisition of marks and IP due diligence
  • Domain name acquisition and protection, including UDRP proceedings
  • Trademark portfolio management
