Supreme Court of Canada rules managers cannot unionize in Quebec
On April 19, 2024, the Supreme Court of Canada handed down the long-awaited decision on the unionization of managers.
The US Supreme Court’s Bostock opinion simply—but momentously—says an employer who fires an individual for being gay or transgender violates Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Jamila Mensah and Carolyn Webb examine the decision and impact and say employers should consider training and clarifying language in some written policies.
