United States Press release - Business August 23, 2022

Norton Rose Fulbright advised Jupiter Power (Jupiter), a US battery energy storage developer, in an agreement for Energy Vault Holdings Inc. (Energy Vault) to supply services including provision of equipment, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and the energy management software for two of Jupiter's battery energy storage projects.

The projects include a 100 MW (200 MWh) battery energy storage system located near Fort Stockton, Texas, which will provide energy and ancillary services to ERCOT, and a 10 MW (20 MWh) system in Carpinteria, California, to provide grid services through participation in the CAISO Resource Adequacy program.

Expected to be completed in 2023, these projects represent Jupiter's first project in California as well as an additional Jupiter West Texas project, and will provide critically needed dispatchable capacity to these electricity markets.

The deal team was led by Luke Edney with support Jesse Hollingsworth (Dallas), Mike Stimson (Austin and San Antonio) and Lauryn Robinson (Austin).
