Houston lawyer honored by the National Diversity Council

The National Diversity Council recognized Jamila S. Mensah (Houston) as one of its Top 50 Women Lawyers in 2019.

Honorees, considered among the most extraordinary leaders in the legal field, are chosen for their experience, leadership and outstanding commitment to advancing diversity and inclusion. The recipients were honored at a Legal Diversity Week awards breakfast on October 29, 2019, at the Marriott Marquis in Houston.

Mensah handles a variety of matters, including discrimination, retaliation and wage and hour issues and counsels and trains employers on a wide range of employment issues, including hiring, termination, wage and hour compliance, disability accommodation, employment discrimination, and drafting of employee handbooks and personnel policies.

Honorees were selected following independent research conducted by the National Diversity Council.

The National Diversity Council, which launched in 2008, is a non-profit organization and is a "forerunner of community-based, national organizations that champion diversity and inclusion across the country." It is comprised of both state and regional councils, including the National Women's Council, the Council for Corporate Responsibility, and the Center for Community Leadership.
