Cyber threats pose a real risk for companies. Preparedness is key and crucial at all levels, including the board of directors. This was highlighted during a panel session at our 2023 Technology, Privacy and Cybersecurity Summit. Our leading lawyers, Olga Farman, Managing Partner Québec City Office, John Cassell and moderator Imran Ahmad, Co-Heads of the Canadian Information Governance, Privacy and Cybersecurity group, and guest speaker Marc Lafrance, VP Technological Risks at Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, provided advice on the types of measures that companies and boards need to consider to mitigate the risks. “The board’s responsibility is to oversee and also to promote cybersecurity policies and strategies, and it’s also to manage cybersecurity risk,” said Olga Farman. The Canadian Lawyer covered the session.
