Norton Rose Fulbright advises IMAXXAM on the purchase of a historic property in Berlin

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has advised IMAXXAM on the acquisition of a listed depot and warehouse building in Berlin-Spandau for its “VBAO ImmoInvest” fund.
The building was constructed between 1928 and 1930 according to plans by architect Hans Poelzig and extensively modernized in 2003 and 2019. In addition to depot and storage rooms, it also houses restoration studios, offices and technical and sanitary facilities. The space is spread over two levels with barrier-free access.
As an independent partner for asset and portfolio management, IMAXXAM launches real estate funds for well-known institutional investors. Headquartered in Frankfurt am Main, the company and its experts develop holistic real estate concepts throughout Germany, from the transaction of small to mid-sized assets to portfolio and asset management and property management.
IMAXXAM acquired the Berlin property as part of an asset deal from an insurance company based in Germany.
Norton Rose Fulbright advised IMAXXAM comprehensively on the transaction in connection with the negotiation of the purchase agreement and the legal and tax due diligence.
