United States Press release - People September 23, 2019

Julie Mayo (Houston) has been named the winner of the inaugural Power Play Vanguard Award, an honor given to one leader who helps create a supportive environment for men and women in the LNG industry.

The Power Play initiative was created by ExxonMobil LNG Market Development, and the winners of the inaugural Power Play Awards were determined by a panel of LNG industry judges and announced September 18 during the Gastech Exhibition and Conference in Houston.

Mayo is a partner in the energy transactions group and focuses her practice on oil, natural gas and electric power projects, with a particular strength in natural gas and LNG. She leads our US oil and gas practice and is a member of the Leaders Circle of the Center for Women in Law. The center is the foremost educational institution devoted to the success of the entire spectrum of women in law, from first-year law students to seasoned lawyers.

Mayo, the only outside counsel to be included among the finalists for the Power Play Awards, said:

"It is a tremendous honor to be named the first-ever winner of the Vanguard Award. At Norton Rose Fulbright, I am surrounded by many great leaders and colleagues all over the world. They have helped me grow as a person, lawyer and leader."

In addition to the Vanguard Award, two other Power Play awards were given: The Rising Star Award went to Eni Rovuma Basin's Jocelyne Machevo, and AGL Energy Limited's Phaedra Deckart won The Rainmaker Award.
