For the third consecutive year, Law360 has recognized Chadbourne & Parke LLP as one of the leading law firms for pro bono work in the United States. The publication’s seventh annual “Pro Bono Firms of the Year” feature highlighted 20 law firms that “demonstrated their steadfast interest in the public interest” by “taking on some of the most consequential legal topics of our time without pay.” The excerpt below is taken from Law360's profile of Chadbourne, published in conjunction with the firm's recognition.
“By expanding its resolute efforts to help undocumented immigrant children avoid deportation, to secure asylum for endangered migrants and to gain justice for a family torn apart by a Chilean war criminal, Chadbourne & Parke LLP has earned a spot on Law360’s Pro Bono Firms of 2016,” Law360 wrote. “Chadbourne’s year over year increase in the average number of hours each attorney spends on pro bono work [is credited] to the firm’s ongoing development of relationships with nonprofit organizations, regular advertisement of diverse pro bono opportunities and flexibility that allows lawyers to find work that's professionally and personally satisfying.”
Chadbourne has long embraced its responsibility to the global community and strongly encouraged involvement in pro bono and other public service activities. The firm is dedicated to advocating for at-risk youth through a range of pro bono work, including our representation of hundreds of immigrant and foster care youth through partnerships with The Door: A Center of Alternatives, Covenant House and The Legal Aid Society.
Earlier this year the National Law Journal once again named Chadbourne to its annual “Pro Bono Hot List,” which recognizes law firms that made exemplary contributions in providing access to justice and whose pro bono work engendered broad social or financial benefits.
