Chadbourne Co-Sponsors PeaceJam Foundation's One Billion Acts of Peace Campaign

Global Firm June 9, 2014

Chadbourne & Parke has pledged support to PeaceJam Foundation’s “One Billion Acts of Peace” campaign by signing on as one of the first four founding partners, along with Google, Wells Fargo, and Hill+Knowlton Strategies.

Led by thirteen Nobel Peace Laureates, including the Dalai Lama and Archbishop Desmond Tutu, “One Billion Acts of Peace” aims to encourage young activists to design one billion high-quality projects aimed at tackling global development issues, such as climate change, sustainability, human rights, access to water and extreme poverty. It is expected to run through December 2018.

Chadbourne is providing legal services to the Campaign on a pro bono basis.

The campaign marked its official launch at the Social Innovation Summit at the United Nations last week. Prior to the UN launch, Dawn Engle and Ivan Suvanjieff, Founders of Peace Jam and Chade Meng Tan of Google rang the Opening Bell, alongside representatives from the movement’s founding partners including Chadbourne’s representatives.
