Norton Rose Fulbright has appointed Mark Oakes as the Partner-in-Charge of its Austin office. The global law firm, which opened its Austin office 40 years ago, represents mature and growing companies, with a concentration on startups, particularly in the technology and innovation and life sciences and healthcare sectors.

Oakes, who joined Norton Rose Fulbright’s Austin office in 2007, said:

“I am excited for the opportunity to lead our fantastic team in Austin. Our focus on client service is paramount, and we’ll continue to develop innovative solutions for their legal and business needs.”

Oakes succeeds Stacey Martinez, whom the firm recently promoted to its Global Head of Life Sciences and Healthcare.

Daryl Lansdale, Norton Rose Fulbright’s US Managing Partner, said:

“Mark’s engaging personality and considerate approach make him an excellent choice to lead our dynamic 70-lawyer team in Austin. We value our unique culture, and we work hard to preserve it. I am confident that Mark will support his Austin colleagues in delivering a first-rate client experience.”
