New head of Intellectual Property for Norton Rose Fulbright South Africa

Norton Rose Fulbright South Africa have appointed Allison Williams as their new head of Intellectual Property with effect from 1 December 2021.

Allison started her career in 1995 with the firm, previously known as Deneys Reitz, and is an intellectual property and commercial lawyer with extensive experience in intellectual property law. Her experience includes the registration and enforcement of trade marks globally, copyright, passing off and unlawful competition, franchising, domain name dispute resolution, advertising complaints and transactional intellectual property work of all kinds, such as merger and acquisition deals containing intellectual property elements or aspects, due diligences, licensing, assignments and, in particular, intellectual property structuring.

Allison has been a fellow of SAIPPL since the early 2000s and a member of the International Trade Mark Association (INTA) since 2004 and also specialises in general commercial law, data protection and consumer law and black economic empowerment.
