Arbitration team recognized among the world's best in the 2023 GAR 30

United States Press release - Recognition April 2023

Norton Rose Fulbright has once again been named among of the world's top law firms for international arbitration with its inclusion in Global Arbitration Review's 2023 "GAR 30" list.

Global Arbitration Review has been ranking the most prestigious international arbitration practices for 16 years, with Norton Rose Fulbright frequently recognized. The firm boasts an increased portfolio value this year, climbing to US$72.7 billion from US$35 billion in the previous year's survey.

A favorable result for Danish brewer Carlsberg in a US$1.5 billion dispute involving businesses in Nepal and India and a dismissed US$121 million NAFTA claim against Delaware-registered client Resolute Forest Products are among the matters that helped the firm secure its place on the list.

Clients of the firm told the publication Norton Rose Fulbright ensures they have the "best position possible should an arbitration be necessary" and named Global Head of International Arbitration Mark Baker and US Head of Arbitration and Houston Partner-in-Charge Kevin O'Gorman as "extremely experienced, knowledgeable and responsive." Clients also praised the firm's advocacy as being "leaps and bounds better than the opposing counsel."

The "GAR 30" list is selected based on the following criteria: number of hearings above US$10 million; the value at stake in those hearings; hours billed to arbitration; performance in Who's Who Legal: Arbitration and Who's Who Legal Future Leaders: Arbitration; and the number of pending cases in which a firm's members are sitting as arbitrators.

Norton Rose Fulbright's world-renowned international arbitration team, with more than 150 lawyers across the globe, handles some of the most complex, high-value and strategically important international arbitrations in the world. The firm has one of the few global legal practices with the experience and resources to assist clients from the onset of a dispute through to enforcement of an award.
