Walied Soliman named Global Chair of Norton Rose Fulbright

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright today announced that Canadian chair Walied Soliman will also become its global chair, effective January 1, 2019.

Walied Soliman is considered a leading authority in special situations and has built a dominant legal practice focused on M&A, takeover defence, complex reorganizations and shareholder activism in Canada.

As global chair, Walied will focus on developing Norton Rose Fulbright’s cross-border M&A and funds practice. A long-time advocate of diversity, Walied will also continue to champion initiatives to promote diversity and inclusion across the firm.

The global chair is the chair of the global supervisory board of the firm.

Walied replaces Tricia Hobson, whose term as global chair expired by rotation on December 31, 2018.
