Norton Rose Fulbright takes part in Byte Night outdoor sleep-out for the eighth consecutive year for Action for Children

Global Firm October 6, 2016

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright will take part in Byte Night for Action for Children for the eighth consecutive year on October 7, 2016.

Byte Night is Action for Children’s biggest annual fundraiser; a national ‘sleep-out’ event where over 1500 people from across the technology industry give up their beds for one night to help changes the lives of vulnerable people.

Norton Rose Fulbright will host the London outdoor sleep in St John’s Churchyard near its London office. A 40-strong team from the firm, led by global head of technology and innovation and Byte Night London co-chair Mike Rebeiro, will participate in the event.

Since 2008, Norton Rose Fulbright has raised over £550,000 for Action for Children through its support for Byte Night from its annual gala dinner, the sleep-out, and other fundraising activities.

Mike Rebeiro commented: “We are delighted to again host Byte Night London and to support Action for Children. The funds raised by Byte Night go towards fighting youth homelessness, which affects 80,000 young people in the UK every year. The work Action for Children is absolutely vital and we are honoured to contribute to such a worthwhile event.”

Helen Parsons, High Value Events Manager for Action for Children, said: “We are extremely grateful to Norton Rose Fulbright for taking part in Byte Night for the eighth year in a row and for their continuous support to help us turn this event into one of the biggest annual fundraisers in the UK. It is absolutely inspiring to work together with hundreds of companies to raise money that make a real difference to the lives of the young disadvantaged people in our society who need it most.”

Founded in 1869, Action for Children is one of the UK’s oldest children’s charities and it supports more than 390,000 children, young people and families every year. Action for Children runs more than 600 projects including children’s centres, services for disabled children and their parents and carers, services for young people and care leavers, adoption and fostering services in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
