Washington, DC lawyer elected to UC Foundation Board of Trustees

The University of Cincinnati Foundation Board of Trustees recently elected antitrust partner Amanda Wait (Washington, DC) to its 55-member board. Elected individuals – slated to begin their service in October 2020 – each have a unique connection to the university and are appointed to support the University of Cincinnati's philanthropic aspirations.

As a not-for-profit organization and the private sector fundraising entity for the University of Cincinnati and UC Health, the UC Foundation promotes the "development of productive, enduring relationships with alumni, friends, colleagues, students, foundations, corporations and the Greater Cincinnati community."

To be considered for election, nominees must be highly valued in their profession and community, have strong ties to the university and demonstrate a commitment for advancement of the university. Wait, who was considered for the board due to her support of the university and philanthropic efforts, also serves on the board of the Kautz-Uible Institute, which supports the department of economics at the university.

Through the Kautz-Uible Institute, she founded the Women in Economics program, which includes mentoring and networking to encourage women in economics. Additionally, she founded "Amanda Wait Fellows," which has provided significant tuition assistance to 11 women freshman and sophomore women economics students since its inception in 2017.

Wait, a former antitrust enforcer at the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), combines her in-depth knowledge of antitrust agency practice with a business-focused approach to getting deals cleared through antitrust and competition review around the world.
