Biography
Valerie Barker handles a wide range of intellectual property matters for a diverse set of clients, focused primarily on patent litigation and patent prosecution. Valerie regularly handles complex disputes involving concurrent proceedings in Federal Courts, the International Trade Commission (ITC) and proceedings before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), and she has served as the lead associate on high-stakes patent infringement matters and represented clients during Markman and Summary Judgment hearings.
Valerie has litigated patent infringement disputes involving a diverse range of technologies, including near field communication, wireless communications technologies, video and data communications technology (e.g., DSL, ADSL, VDSL, PON), lighting devices, computer and server hardware and software, e-commerce, radio communications hardware (e.g., antennas and antenna arrays) and medical devices. She also has experience prosecuting patent applications involving a variety of high-technology clients.
